Moving

With much of April and even early May rainy and below 50, my bike trainer’s been a sweaty escape.

A moment of peace in a hectic world, the cool, dark night when everyone is asleep.

My nightly walk or run is my asylum.

My light-up vest is my companion, my safety net.

Comfort in neon.

This painting documents my movements in my apartment during the quarantine in the month of May 2020.

I danced with Gaga/People online classes everyday on this paper moving charcoal, lead and pastel around… At the end of each day I also traced all the debris/hair/dust that landed on the paper during the day.

Initially I didn’t feel like having any color and only used charcoal and mechanical pencil leads. Later in the month I was ready to add some colored pastels gradually shifting to brighter colors…
