An Accumulation (2019)

Only in museums does art live in spaces free from the inevitable clutter of daily life.

This catalog looks at the paintings, prints, drawings and photographs that have accumulated in the offices of Tchotchke & Tchotchke amidst the other stuff — the bills, circulars, ephemera — that make up the day-to-day. It’s about the stuff that remains when the rest goes out with the trash.

The quality of the collection varies. Some objects were bought, some were gifts. At least one was a curbside find. All have a story. An Accumulation explores those stories and explains why they matter to us — in case they might matter to you too.
